Spirit of Service Award

Spirit of Service Award

When Mark Huber received a call about a local family’s home being lost to fire last year he selflessly mobilized the community and his industry peers to have the home rebuilt.

This act, along with countless others, is the character of Mark that we celebrated last Friday.

Our staff humbly came alongside Mark as he was awarded the Spirit of Service award from the Master Builders Association at their annual Winter Gala Celebration.

Made up of area home builders, architects, manufacturers and industry leaders, the Master Builder’s Association (MBA) has been serving the area for over a century.

Each year the Community Stewardship Department of the Master Builders Association awards a Spirit of Service Award. This award goes to a member who has given of their time and talents to help others in the community.

Mark has been a member of MBA for over 30 years and it’s humbling to be honored by these professional peers.

“We know the family is very appreciative for all the work that you did,” said Shannon Affholter of MBA. “We thank you for all the work that you’re doing out in the community and giving your heart and giving your time and your effort. “

“I believe in community,” said Mark. “When I was growing up my family used to tell us to help your neighbor, help your friend, and so god gave me these talents and a gift so I should be sharing them.”
